How would you describe your style?
I'm a lifestyle and documentary photographer obsessed with movement, emotion, and natural connection. The images I create look warm and cozy with a moody exterior and a bit of a flair for the dramatic. I'll guide you through prompts instead of poses to organically bring out the authentic you. You'll be dancing, spinning, skipping, jumping, walking, relaxing, laughing, hugging, and kissing. Sure, I'll include some traditional pictures with everyone looking and smiling, but if that's what you're into then I'm not the right fit for you. If you want beautiful, authentic interaction that give you all the feels every time you see your images, then let's chat!
What makes you different?
I am 110% dedicated to respecting you, your journey, and your safety. All people of all sizes, ethnicities, and backgrounds belong here. I believe in being kind to our bodies and respecting all spiritual and religious beliefs. I take the time to learn about newborn safety to protect your little ones during our sessions. History is my hobby and I'm frequently researching different cultures and their histories. I am also actively listening to the LGBTQ+, Black, and minority voices to be more understanding and empathetic to different life experiences. I strive to create a safe, comfy space where you can be who you truly are, and feel loved for it.
How long will it take to receive my images?
I promise a 2 week turn around for my standard sessions. Your digital images arrive to you in a beautiful downloadable gallery in your email inbox, so be on the look-out!
Where do sessions take place?
Anywhere we can (legally) go to be honest! In a wild forest or your own backyard. Your favorite room in your house or a specially designed studio space. And if you haven't already fallen in love with a location, one of my unique suggestions is bound to be perfect for your vision.
But my house is too small/dark/cluttered
Please don't worry about the mess! As a toddler mum and living with mental illness, I empathize with full sinks and mountains of laundry. (I don't bother folding the clothes either) But if you trust me, I will find the beautiful spaces with perfect light anywhere. You don't need a magazine ready home to be worthy of the memories you will preserve through photographs. I'm all for throwing out the paradigm of perfection, opening a window, and focusing on you being you.
What if my toddler is a tornado?
Every child is fantastically unique and I want you to know your wild child is welcome here. I'm very well practiced in patience and can roll with the meltdowns, frequent potty breaks, and high energy kids. I don't shy away from real life. There is beauty in the difficult moments too; when you're comforting your crying child, when you're returning from chasing an escape artist for the millionth time, or when they just want the freedom to be themselves. Let's embrace exactly who your child is and capture their true essence.
What should we wear?
Once we schedule, I'll go over the details of achieving a cohesive look for you or your family. You'll receive personalized assistance to help you get the best style that suits you and will give us those beautiful images you're looking for.
What if I don't love how I look in photos?
I see you, I get you. I am frequently critical of how I look in images, and I have wonderful people who remind me that only I can decide that. I'm not going to tell you how to think, because it doesn't work that way. I AM going to support you and create a space where you can feel loved no matter what your body looks like, so that you can be comfortable during your session. You deserve photographs at every stage of life. I do ask that you let me know about any specific insecurities or situations before our session, just so I can be aware and sensitive to what may be on your mind. I will not try to pose you to look skinny or hide "undesirable" parts of your body. I'm here to emphasize your true emotion, natural connections, and the incredible love you have for yourself and your loved ones.
What if I don't want my images on social media?
Your privacy is so important. My contract includes a model release you can choose to sign that gives me permission to share your images on my website and social media. If you want your images to be private, just let me know.
Do you offer payment plans?
Absolutely. Every session requires a 50% retainer fee to reserve your date and time, but you are welcome to set up a payment plan any time to make smaller payments. Ask me about it and we'll work out the finer details.
